2025 Hungarian Grand Prix: Norris turns the race around, Ferrari loses ground, Leclerc tumbles

Résumé GP hongrie

There are victories that define a season, or even a career. Lando Norris 's victory this Sunday in Budapest is clearly one of them. Starting third on the grid, the Briton transformed a difficult start to the race into a true masterstroke, taking advantage of a bold McLaren strategy and exceptional control in key moments.

From the moment the lights went out, the Grand Prix seemed to be slipping away from Norris. While Charles Leclerc , on pole, maintained the advantage, Oscar Piastri took the lead thanks to a pinpoint launch. But as is often the case this season, it was in the pits and with a good sense of pace that McLaren made the difference. A gamble on a single stop and perfect tire management allowed Norris to come back strongly, until he took back the lead in the final laps.

🎯 Leclerc trapped, Russell opportunistic

For Ferrari, the day turned into a nightmare. After a well-controlled first half of the race, Leclerc found himself stuck in an uninspired strategy, then suffered a technical issue on lap 45. A 5-second penalty for a controversial maneuver on Russell sealed his fate: no podium finish for the Monegasque, who finished a dejected 4th.

George Russell , for his part, didn't ask for much. Thanks to a clean race and impressive consistency, he climbed onto the third step of the podium and saved the day for Mercedes.

🔥 McLaren at the top, Verstappen in doubt

The Norris-Piastri double confirms McLaren's dominance in the 2025 season. The papaya team seems to have found the recipe for consistency, combining sharp strategy and pure performance.

On the other hand, at Red Bull , the situation was bitter. Max Verstappen , unable to get back into the pack, finished only 9th. "The car was very slow, no rhythm," he said, visibly tired.
