A motorcycle clothing collection can be organised by brand. Ours is not. It brings together nine machines that each imposed a character, and the name of every piece says which one. Here is how to read those names, and how to recognise the bike that speaks to the right person.

Nine machines, two pieces each

The motorcycle collection holds eighteen pieces, and that symmetry is no accident: each of the nine bikes exists as a t-shirt and as a sweatshirt, with the same artwork on the back. So the choice is never about the design, only about the season.

Every piece runs from XS to 3XL, in white or black. One exception: the MV Agusta F4 comes in black only, because its artwork was composed for that ground.

The nine machines: Ducati 916, Honda RC30, Honda CBX1000, Yamaha R1, Kawasaki ZX-7R, Suzuki Hayabusa, MV Agusta F4, Harley-Davidson XR750 and BMW R 80 G/S.

The shortcut
The artwork does not change between the t-shirt and the sweatshirt. Choose the machine first, the garment comes after.

The Italians: motorcycles that were drawn

Ducati 916, "Opera Meccanica". Drawn by Massimo Tamburini and launched in 1994, it is regularly named among the most beautiful motorcycles ever built. Its twin exhausts under the seat changed the shape of sports bikes for a decade. This is the piece for someone who talks about motorcycles as objects.

MV Agusta F4, "Four Pipe Couture". Same designer, same obsession with detail, and four exhausts grouped under the seat that give the piece its name. The word couture is deliberate: it is the most dressed machine of the set, and the only piece in the collection available in black alone.

The Japanese: excess, fully owned

Yamaha R1, "Control the Violence". Arriving in 1998, it redefined what a road sports bike could take. The name of the piece says exactly what kind of relationship the rider has with it.

Suzuki Hayabusa, "Wind Authority". Launched in 1999, it entered history as the motorcycle of pure speed. Its Japanese name is a falcon, and nobody ever bought one to go unnoticed.

Honda CBX1000, "Six Cylinder Symphony". An inline six, on full display, in 1978. The piece speaks of a symphony because it is first of all a matter of sound.

Honda RC30 and Kawasaki ZX-7R. Two machines born for racing homologation, the first in the late 1980s, the second in the 1990s. These are the connoisseurs' pieces: less famous with the general public, recognised instantly by those who know.

Off the tarmac: dirt and distance

Harley-Davidson XR750, "Sideways Authority". The American dirt track machine, ridden sideways around oval clay tracks. The word sideways describes a trajectory, not an attitude.

BMW R 80 G/S, "Terrain Nobility". Introduced in 1980, it founded the big trail category and won the Dakar. This is the motorcycle of travel rather than of the racetrack, and it is also the only bridge between our motorcycle collection and our BMW range.

Both pieces speak to people who do not necessarily see themselves on a sports bike: temperament matters more than performance.

T-shirt or sweatshirt, and which size

Since the artwork is identical on both, the calendar settles it. The sweatshirt is the autumn and winter piece, the one worn from morning to night. The t-shirt stays right for spring, for a mild climate, or as the second piece in a gift.

All motorcycle pieces follow the same sizing as the rest of the shop. Measurements are on the t-shirt size chart and the hoodie size chart.

Frequently asked questions

Which motorcycles are featured?

Nine machines: Ducati 916, Honda RC30, Honda CBX1000, Yamaha R1, Kawasaki ZX-7R, Suzuki Hayabusa, MV Agusta F4, Harley-Davidson XR750 and BMW R 80 G/S.

Is the artwork the same on the t-shirt and the sweatshirt?

Yes. Each machine exists in both pieces with the same back artwork. The choice is about the season, not the design.

Which colours and sizes?

White or black, from XS to 3XL. Only the MV Agusta F4 is black only.

What do names like "Opera Meccanica" mean?

Each name sums up the character of the machine: the 916 as a drawn object, the R1 as power to be contained, the XR750 as a sideways trajectory.

What do you give someone who does not ride a sports bike?

The BMW R 80 G/S for a traveller, the Harley XR750 for American culture, the CBX1000 for someone who loves mechanics and sound first.

A motorcycle piece is chosen on a character, not on a brand. The machine says who the person is, the calendar says whether it is a t-shirt or a sweatshirt. The machine, the character, the season.
