Formula 1 gets back to work

The 2026 edition is expected to be the last Dutch Grand Prix on the calendar. For Verstappen and the fans, that gives the weekend a special weight, even though the sporting pressure begins as soon as the lights go out.
The sporting questions at the restart
The second half of the season should clarify the championship picture. Kimi Antonelli leads ahead of Zandvoort, Lewis Hamilton follows in the standings and George Russell remains within reach. Lando Norris’s win in Hungary has nevertheless reopened the discussion at the front.
Zandvoort demands a difficult compromise. The circuit is fast, undulating and difficult for overtaking. Teams will need to balance cornering speed, stability through the banked turns and efficiency in the few places where an attack is possible.
